Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (850m) - 7-8 hrs drive Today, after an early breakfast, your guide will pick you up and take you to the tourist bus station at Sorkhuttee for a scenic drive to Pokhara. The bus journey takes about 7 hours and offers beautiful views of hills, terraced fields, rivers, distant mountains, and rural villages. During the trip, the bus will stop for lunch by the Tirshuli River. Once you reach Pokhara Valley, you will be transferred to your hotel where you can check into your room. In the evening, if you’re not too tired, you can stroll around Lakeside near Fewa Lake.
After breakfast at the hotel in Pokhara, you will take a private jeep drive to Ulleri. The off-road drive takes about 3 hours and covers a distance of approximately 48 kilometers. Once you arrive in Ulleri, you’ll begin your trek to Ghorepani. The trek is around 10 kilometers long and takes about 4 to 5 hours to complete. Along the trail, you’ll pass through beautiful forests and waterfalls, with amazing views of the Himalayan range. Upon reaching Ghorepani, you’ll check into a guesthouse. Take some time to explore the town and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.
Today, early in the morning, lace up your boots, pack your camera, and headlamp for a short visit to Poon Hill viewpoint. From there, you can capture the sunrise and stunning mountain views. It’s about a 45-minute uphill walk from your guesthouse. Poon Hill is situated at a 3,210-meter elevation from where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the mountain range, including Mt. Dhaulagiri I and II, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Himchuli, Gangapurna, Mt. Fishtail, Mardi Himal, and Lamjung Himal. If you’re trekking in the spring season, apart from the sunrise and mountain views, you’ll also see beautiful blooming rhododendron flowers covering the hills from the viewpoint. After spending some time at the top of Poon Hill, you will trek back to your hotel and have breakfast. After breakfast, you’ll start your trek towards Tadapani. The trail leads downhill, and you can stop for lunch at Banthanti around noon. Today’s hike takes you along the ridgeline and through a pleasant rhododendron forest before reaching Tadapani. Once you arrive in Tadapani, you’ll be greeted with a fantastic view of Mount Fishtail.
Leaving Tadapani behind, today you’ll hike to Chomrong village. The trail involves a gradual descent, crossing suspension bridges, passing through rhododendron forests, and walking along crop fields. As you walk through lush jungles, birds will accompany you, adding to the fascination of your journey. Watching their colorful wings flap as they move from one tree to another is a rewarding sight of today’s hike. Enjoying the company of these creatures, you’ll eventually reach Chomrong. Here, villages spread across the hillside, with majestic mountains like Huinchuli, Machapuchare, and Annapurna South towering over the town.
You will leave Chhomrong after breakfast in the morning and head towards Dovan. Initially, you will descend many stone steps that seem to go on forever. After crossing a suspension bridge, you begin the ascent to Sinuwa. Passing through Bamboo, named after the large number of bamboo trees in the area, we continue walking toward our destination. Near Bamboo, you may even catch a glimpse of Red Pandas and bears. Along the route, you’ll also see several waterfalls. After crossing Sinuwa, the landscape becomes densely vegetated. You then start descending to Dovan, where you will spend a night.
Today is a comparatively short day of trekking as we only have to cover around 7-8 kilometers. After a hearty breakfast, you’ll follow a serene path through an emerald-green forest of bamboo and rhododendrons towards Deurali. The trekking route is decorated with prayer flags, adding a vibrant flair to the surroundings. Before continuing your walk, take a moment to appreciate the unique ambiance. As you move, the forest gradually fades away, giving way to a barren landscape scattered with boulders and scree. Passing by the Himalayan Hotel, you’ll know you’re getting closer to your destination. Continue climbing past this landmark until you reach Hinku Cave, which was once used as a shelter and overnight stop for historical Annapurna expeditions.
Today is the most awaited day of your journey because you are reaching the ultimate Annapurna Base Camp. The journey for the day begins by climbing a riverbed and hiking up to Annapurna Sanctuary. There’s a significant gain in altitude today, so, as always, be careful and don’t rush the trek. The trail also follows the Modi Khola and eventually leads you to Machhapuchre Base Camp. From here, you can see the Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, and other mountains in the area. You start walking and make your way through a region with less vegetation until you reach Annapurna Base Camp in just two hours. You’ve reached the top of your hike at 4,130 meters. The next morning, you can watch the sunrise over the steep south face of Annapurna, which rises above you from the lap of this beautiful mountain. Standing at the base of the tenth-tallest peak in the world is a significant accomplishment. Today, we can explore the Annapurna Base Camp area and enjoy the breathtaking sunset.
Enjoy a moment at Annapurna Base Camp, soaking in the sunrise view over the Himalayas, and then grab your breakfast. After breakfast, descend back to Bamboo following the same trail along the Modi River to reach the beautiful Bamboo village. Today, you will descend to an elevation of roughly 1700 meters. In Bamboo Village, you can taste bamboo pickles and vegetables. Enjoy the views of the surrounding mountains from Bamboo and stay overnight here.
After breakfast, you will descend to Jhinu Danda where you can enjoy a natural hot spring. Jhinu Danda is a famous destination for natural hot springs. The trail to Jhinu Danda winds down through wooded slopes to Chomrong via Khuldighar. From Chomrong, the path gets steeper as it descends towards Jhinu Danda. While descending, be sure to visit the experimental sheep farm, which provides a glimpse of a herder’s life in the mountains of Nepal. Observing these exciting aspects of rural life, you will reach Jhinu Danda. From here, if you hike down for about half an hour, you will reach a natural hot spring. This is the ideal spot to relax and let the stress away.
After breakfast, you will depart from Jhinu Danda on your final day of hiking. You’ll be walking alongside the Modi River until you reach Siwai village. It takes around three hours to walk from Jhinu Danda to Siwai, which is just a few kilometers away. A vehicle will be waiting for you at Siwai to drive you back to Pokhara. Pokhara is home to various tourist hotspots, such as Fewa Lake.
On your last day, you will be transferred to the tourist bus station in Pokhara after breakfast for a scenic return ride to Kathmandu, following the banks of the Marshyangi and Trishuli rivers. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, the company’s representative will distribute your trip achievement certificates. Afterward, you will be taken for a farewell dinner where you can celebrate your accomplishment with Nepalese cuisine and a cultural dance show.
